"Mommy.. I scared"

This morning we were awakened by a horrible thunderstorm that made me sit up straight in bed. At about the same time I heard the pitter patter of little feet coming down the hall way.  I then hear the little voice "Mommy.. I scared" and as he climbed in our bed and clang to my arm I couldnt help but sit and enjoy ever second of it.

Not that he was scared.. No of course not.. But that he still needed me! There are times that I wonder if he still does. We call him Mr. Independent and usually follow that with the words "Whatever you can do, I can do better". Of course he laughs and continues on his way. Dont forget people that he will be 4 in October.

But this morning as we were cuddling and listending to the storm.. I started to remember when he was an infant and how many nights I literatly stayed awake and watched him sleep. How the first night I brought him home, I told him that I would never let anything harm him.  So hearing my baby say "Mommy..I scared" absolutely made my heart stop for a quick minute.

And then as I get up and begin to feel the misearble feeling of nausea kick in... I hear Caleb get upset and start screaming for his daddy. "Daddy Daddy.. mommys got a bo-bo! come help her" And as those big tears are forming in his eyes he pats me on the head and tells me its okay.. just rest.

Seriously.. this is my not yet 4 year old! The sweetest boy I could ever imagine having thats mine! I  must say I did good..and I cant wait to see what his brother/sister will be like.  If Caleb has anything to do about it, they will be just as sweet.

So join me with a drive down memory lane.. The beginning of my REAL life.. Mommyhood

Do you recall???

Do you remember when you were little and dreaming about what it will be like to own your first home? How the many different ways you will decorate it? The colors you will choose??  The admiration you have for your parents for owning their first home and the warmth you feel in it. Knowing that one day you want that for your family.. and it will be SO easy!!!

I seriously remember sitting down with my moms spiegel magazine and going page by page picking out items.  From couches to curtains, to bedroom suites for my "dream husband" to cribs for my 5 children.. the list went on and on. I was sure that the hardest part of owning your home would be decorating it.

My best friend, Paula and I would do this together and I recall it being SO much fun to fantasize. Those were the times..

Well its not easy.. the paperwork is insane, the negotiations make you want to begin drinking a lot, and the waiting is just ridiculous! Is it worth it sure.. but its insane.. and not as easy as your parents made it look.

My husband and I have just bought our first home.. We move in this weekend and close Friday September 24th.  I am so proud of us and the huge accomplishment we have made. Ours first home is just perfect for our little but growing family.

Ill post pictures soon.. Because that is what First Time Home buyers do.. We BRAG!

Oh and I would love to say thanks to my parents.. They are just WONDERFUL and such a blessing in our lives. We couldn't do what we do without them. I am very fortunate!

Stay Marvelous!!!!
